Clinical psychologist in Cape Town

My therapeutic work is grounded in mindfulness – focussing the attention in the here-and-now with an attitude of kindness and compassion toward oneself and others. My background in psychodynamic psychotherapy provides an understanding of how our histories shape who we are today and how we relate with each other – and how we may break with old ways that no longer serve us.

I provide brief and long-term psychotherapy for adults who want to overcome emotional, mental and relationship challenges. People consult me about life questions, crises, transitions, stress management, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, difficulties with emotional regulation, and sexual and gender problems.

But psychotherapy is not just about problems, it is also about finding out what is working well and then building on the foundation of your own innate wisdom.

When we align ourselves with our individual strengths rather than swimming against the current, personal growth can happen with greater ease. I do self-development work with people who want to mature toward a more fulfilling experience of their lives, with a deepened sense of meaning, purpose and connected-ness to others.

I am fully bilingual, conducting sessions in Afrikaans and English. For clients who are travelling, or living abroad or in remote areas, I conduct remote sessions via Whatsapp and other video call tools.
