I have a degree in drama and a post-graduate degree in journalism, which included a translation component, from the University of Stellenbosch (Western Cape, South Africa). I studied psychology at the University of Stellenbosch, the University of South Africa and Rhodes University (Eastern Cape, South Africa), and completed my clinical training at the University of Cape Town (South Africa), from whom I hold a masters degree in psychology. Currently, I am enrolled in the post-graduate certification for mindfulness-based interventions at the University of Stellenbosch.
I previously worked as journalist and translator for the daily press and founded a translation agency, which I sold after a few years to better balance my psychology and linguistics careers. I worked as a psychologist in psychosexual health in the National Health Service in London until 2003. Since then, I have been a clinical psychologist in private practice. I am registered with the South African Health Professions Council.
