MClinPsych (UCT) Practice 0120502 HPCSA PS 0061697
I studied psychology at the University of Stellenbosch, the University of South Africa and Rhodes University, and completed my clinical training at the University of Cape Town in 1998. I worked as a psychologist in psychosexual health in the National Health Service in London until 2003, gaining experience in sex therapy. Sexual and gender problems remain a special focus in my work, now enhanced by the mindfulness approach.
I have been practising mindfulness, attending retreats and taking mindfulness courses for more than ten years. I completed a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course and an SN Goenka Vipassana course in 2012. Currently, I am enrolled in South Africa's first university certification training in mindfulness-based interventions. This course is offered by Stellenbosch University and the Institute for Mindfulness in South Africa.
I have been in private practice in Cape Town since 2004, offering brief and long-term psychotherapy for adults and couples, and psychosexual therapy.
I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
